Chandigarh, Dec 29 (UNI) The Haryana government has received the approval of the Central government for Foreign Direct Investment of Rs 1391 crore during this year upto September 2007.
Stating this here today, an official spokesman said Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda has implemented a number of welfare schemes for all the sections of the society and special thrust had been given to promote industries in the state with a view to generating more employment avenues.
New industrial policy had been implemented in the state which resulted in setting up of a number of multinational companies and the State is emerging as a last destination for investment, he said.
The Haryana Government had simplified the rules and regulations with a view to providing world level infrastructure so that more foreign investment could be attracted in the state.
At present, total investment of Rs 28,000 crore had been attracted so far. Besides, projects with investment of Rs 60,000 crore were under implementation.
The Government of India has approved the proposal of Foreign Direct Investment of Rs 10,389 crore so far.
The Haryana State Industrial And Infrastructure Development Corporation was acquiring 17,000 acres of land for development of new Industrial Estates besides, extension of the existing Industrial Estates.
The industry department had filed 3772 industrial entrepreneurs memorandums with Government of India to set up large and medium industries in the state in which an investment of Rs 48,511 crore would be made and out of which 82 industrial entrepreneurs memorandums had been filed so far which would catalyzed and investment of Rs 5033 crore.
As many as 1330 large and medium units had been set up in the state with an investment of over Rs. 25,291 crore. Besides, 1099 small scale units had been set up during the current financial year. The total export of the State during the current financial year had exceeded to Rs 30,000 crore.
The industry department was also developing four new Industrial Model Township at Faridabad, Rohtak, Jagadhri and KharKhoda and these townships would comprise campus for large industries, IT Parks, industrial plots, commercial and industrial areas, entertainment zones, educational and health care facilities.
