Bollywood 'Victory' in MCG, Sydney to follow

By Staff

Melbourne, Dec 29 (UNI) Indian cricketers ate the humble pie in the first Test, but it won't stop a multi-million dollar Bollywood movie to cash in on to the much-hyped tour Down Under.

The MCG and the crowd played their bit parts for the film titled 'Victory', a touching story about a man from a small town in Rajasthan, who dreams his young son will one day play cricket for India.

The son goes on to become the greatest cricketer in the world, and the MCG footage will be used to convey part of that rags-to-riches odyssey.

Current Aussie stars Brett Lee, Mike Hussey, Stuart Clark and Shaun Tait will have cameos that are to be shot in Sydney after the second Test (January 2-6).

Producer Vivek Agrawal hopes the inclusion of professional cricketers will ensure India's cricket-mad public will find the match scenes authentic.

''In India, cricket is like a religion, everybody knows how the game is played, so if I have actors trying to play cricket, it will be fake,'' he said about his film which he wants to release in August next year.

''If I can do it during a real match, it's going to be much more real.'' Harman Baweja, a relative newcomer to Bollywood, will star as the cricketer and Amrita Rao will play the lead female actor's role.

Besides cricket scenes, there would be plenty of musical numbers and, of course, a love interest -- a childhood friend in this case.
