400 passengers fined for tickletless travel
Tiruchirapalli, Dec 29 (UNI) About 400 passengers, including 50 women from Mumbai were fined Rs 350 each for travelling without tickets in the Madurai-bound weekly express train from Mumbai here today.
Police said the ticketless travellers initially refused to pay fine and allegedly attempted to manhandle the travel ticket examiners. However, the TTEs over-powered them and detained them in the waiting room of the Tiruchirapalli station They were allowed to board another train bound for Madurai only after they paid the fine.
