Shimla, Dec 28 (UNI) Conceding defeat in the Himachal Pradesh Assembly election, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today said the party was ''disappointed'' but not ''disheartened'' at the defeat.

'' The party will analyse results to find out the causes behind the party's defeat and take remedial measures,''he said and exuded confidence that the party will emerge more vibrant out of the setback and meet future challenges successfully.

Congratulating the BJP and its chief ministerial candidate Prem Kumar Dhumal for the saffron party's win in the elections, the outgoing Chief Minister said the Congress will play the role of a responsible Opposition both in and outside the Assembly.

He expressed confidence that the BJP will provide renewed momentum to the pace of development in the hill state, ''solid foundation of which has already been laid by the Congress''.

Earlier, a meeting of the state cabinet, presided over by the Chief Minister, recommended the dissolution of the state assembly paving the way for the formation of new BJP government in the state.
