Alert in Haryana after Benazir's assassination
Chandigarh, Dec 28 (UNI) The Haryana Police has announced a general alert in the state in the wake of the assassination of former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto in a suicide attack in Rawalpindi yesterday.
Haryana Director General of Police (DGP) R S Dalal told reporters here today that the general alert was announced last night as a precautionary measure after the news of Ms Bhutto's assassination came.
He said police force was extra vigilant and a special watch was being kept on all kinds of criminal activities in the state.
The Haryana Police would also review the security given to the VVIPs in the state in the wake of the yesterday's terror attack on Ms Bhutto in Pakistan, the DGP said.
