AIU seize Ketamine from a passenger
Mumbai, Dec 28 (UNI) The officials of Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) today seized Ketamine, worth Rs 25 lakh in the international market, from a passenger who was trying to smuggle it out from the country.
According to an official release from the Commissioner of Customs at the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, the Indian national, who was leaving for Kuala Lumpur via Bangkok by Cathay Pacific Airlines flight no CX 750 from here, was intercepted and checked by sleuths of the AIU.
On examination of his black colour strolley bag, the officers found a white crystalline substance purported to be Ketamine, weighing 25 kgs. The international value of the banned drug, used for recreational purposes, is Rs 25 lakh.
The accused has been arrested under the provisions of Customs Act, 1962, read with Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940.
