"Punarnava" to open more referral centres abroad
Kochi, Dec 27 (UNI) Close on the heels of opening a referral Centre in London, the city-based Punarnava Ayurveda Hospital Private Limited is planning to open similar centres in South Africa and Switzerland.
Talking to reporters here today, Hospital Chairman and Managing Director Dr A M Anwar said the centres would be opened with the help of qualified local doctors and help to promote Ayurveda medicines in other countries.
'' The patients coming to these centres, if needed, will be referred to hospitals in Kerala for further traditional treatment,'' he said.
In a bid to popularise Ayurveda, various seminars had been conducted in South Africa, Qatar and the UAE as part of the 'Continuing Ayurveda Awarreness Programme' initiated by the Hospital.
Dr Anwar said a number of patients from South Africa, Switzerland, Germany and the United Kingdom underwent treatment at its various hospitals across the state.
As part of its expansion plan, a 90-bed in-patient block would be opened on December 29, he added.
