Bhubaneswar, Dec 27 (UNI) The Christian community in Orissa today demanded a CBI inquiry to probe into the brain behind the communal clash in Kandhmal district.

A delegation of twenty Christian religious leaders led by Cuttack Arch Bishop Raphel Cheenath called on Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik this evening and submitted a memorandum demanding CBI inquiry into the clash.

The Archbishop said some anti-socials shouting ''Jai Bajarangbali and Jay Sri Ram'' damaged fifty churches in the district. He alleged that though they had informed the district administration no action was taken to control the situation during the last four days.

He denied the allegation that the clash erupted due to the conversion in the area. There was no instances of any forceful conversion, the Arch Bishop said.
