Bangalore, Dec 27 (UNI) Ashta Matts (Eight Matts) of Udupi which are managing the famous Sri Krishna Temple will soon have written constitution, Vishvesha thirtha Swamiji of Pejawar Matt said today.

Talking to newsmen, he said that hitherto the Temple was run on unwritten constitution, but henceforth there would be written constitution on the principles of democracy. "It does not mean that so far the management was undemocratic and there was any shortcoming in the functioning of the Ashta Matta", he clarified.

He said that both Senior and Junior Swamijis of Ashta Matts would meet soon to give final touches to the Constitution.

Referring to controversy over Paryaya (taking over the responsibility of performing puja for two years to Lord Krishna in the temple coming by rotation to all the Eight Matts) scheduled for January 18, Swamiji expressed confidence in the function being held smoothly as per schedule by putting an end to all controversies.

Swamiji said that he was not against any individual as far as Paryaya was concerned, unnecessarily he was blamed for denying Puttige Swamiji to adore Paryaya since he had visited USA for preaching Hinduism. " I am not against Puttige Swamiji, but as per rules in 'Madhava' religion those who visit other country, crossing sea are not eligible to perform Pooja to the Lord Krishna and all the eight matt heads are sticking to it." "Since the Paryaya was affecting the Society nor by not adoring Paryaya, Puttige Swamiji will not be loosing any rights on the Matt, he (Puttige Swamiji) can give the rights to his Junior to take over, it makes no difference", he added.

He said that if the question was affecting the Society as it happens some time some cannot perform pooja very strictly due to work pressure or for any other reasons, in such cases simple methods have been advised. But in case of Puttige Swamiji it was not so as the religion clearly specifies that those who cross sea cannot perform Pooja to Lord Krishna with same method and many Madhava's in abroad have expressed it.

Swamiji said that himself, Puttige and Palmar Matt Swamijis would be meeting on January one to thrash out difference of opinion prevailing and find suitable solution to put an end to the controversy to pave way for smooth conduct of Paryaya.
