SIC ascertains Dawood link with Mecca Masjid, twin blasts

Hyderabad, Dec 26 (UNI) The Special Investigation Cell (SIC), probing the May 18 Mecca Masjid blasts and August 25 twin blasts cases, have ascertained of underworld Don Dawood Ibrahim's link with the blasts.

Police sources today said Mohd Abdul Majid, the brother of Harkat Ul Jihadi Islami (HUJI) Leader Shahed alias Bilal, had revealed certain vital informations that points out a possible funding by Dawood Ibrahim to HUJI to trigger the blasts.

Majid, who underwent narco tests, told the SIC officials that his brother Bilal had direct links with Dawood Ibrahim for several years.

He said Dawood used to contact Bilal regulary and had utilised his network to circulate counterfeit currencies in Hyderabad.

At present, Dawood was in Pakistan and operating the counterfeit currency racket here with the help of his associates and HUJI activists, Majid revealed.

Majid said his brother Bilal was the kingpin behind both the blasts.
