Khajuraho rail route under development
Mahoba, Dec 26 (UNI) Tourists would have to wait a little more to reach Khajuraho by train, as the development work of the rail route connecting the place is still underway.
To boost tourism, the Railways Ministry had inititated a project in 2000, under which a 55-km long Mahoba-Khajuraho rail route was to be developed.
Former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had laid the foundation of the project and termed it as a milestone for the development of the impoverished Bundelkhand.
But the work may not be completed on time, as 40 per cent of the project was still remaining.
As per the original plan, January 26, 2008 was fixed as the completion date for the project.
Presently, tourists reach Khajuraho via road and air routes.
