Kolkata, Dec 26 (UNI) Two Indians, claiming to be a married couple, were arrested today on arrival at the Netaji Subash Chandra Bose International airport after being deported from the New York airport as the immigration department barred them from entering the US.

The two, identifed as Sanjay Saraff (49) and Anita (32), had gone to New York seeking ''better livelihood'' with Indian passports and US visas. Anita's full name is Anitabein Babulal Patel.

On arrival at the New York airport, the immigration authorites questioned the ''couple'' and discovered that the procedures adopted by the two for obtaining the visas were ''vague'', airport officials here said.

The two were then stopped from entering the US and their passports were stamped ''inadmissible passenger''by the immigration authorities.

The duo arrived at the NSCBI airport last night.
