Haryana forms Administrative Reforms Commission

Chandigarh, Dec 26 (UNI) The Haryana government has constituted its first Administrative Reforms Commission under the chairmanship of Mr Karan Singh Dalal, MLA, to examine various aspects of the administrative structure and processes in the state to make these affective and responsive.

The other members of the Administrative Reforms Commission were former Chief Secretary Prem Prashant, another retired IAS officer M C Gupta and Prof D R Chaudhry, said the official spokesperson.

Mr Ajit M Sharan, an IAS officer, has been appointed as the Member Secretary of the Commission.

The Commission would recommend appropriate changes in the organisational structure and methods of cooperation of the state government departments towards promoting efficiency, economy, transparency and responsiveness in the overall service by the government, he said.

The Commission would recommend ways to create an environment where government functionaries can respond to the people with courtesy and spirit of understanding and helpfulness. It will recommend measures for more effective monitoring and evaluation systems related to both personnel and programmes.

It would also recommend appropriate initiatives for greater decentralisation of power for speedier resolution of administrative issues and for better coordination. The Commission would suggest ways of promoting greater spread of e-governance in all departments and at all levels, he added.
