Dhananjay Mahadik joins NCP
Mumbai, Dec 26 (UNI) Dhananjay Mahadik, a Kolhapur-based industrialist, who heads several social organisations in the region, joined the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) here today along with his supporters.
He was welcomed into the party by State Unit President Arun Gujarathi and Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil.
Mr Mahadik is also involved in 'Yuva shakti', a youth organisation in Kolhapur.
He had unsuccessfully contested against the NCP candidate in the 2004 lok sabha polls and garnered 3.87 lakh votes.
Mr Mahadik said he was on the look out for a political platform to further his social activities and NCP was the best bet today.
