Bangalore, Dec 26 (UNI) Kannada research scholar and critic M Chidananda Murthy, claiming that the controversial Datta Peeta in Chickmagalur was undoubtedly belonging to Hindus, today urged the authorities to transfer its administration from Muslims to Hindus.
Talking to newspersons here, he said according to revenue records pertaining to the controversial place, Datta originally belonged to the Hindus, where normal worship and other rituals were being held till recently.
Claiming that the original Darga of saint Baba Budan was located at Naganahalli, Mr Murthy argued that it was situated away from the Bababudan Hill in Chickmagalur district.
Alleging that the present administration in Datta Peeta have fradualently doctored the documents which claimed that Peeta belongs to the Muslims, Mr Murthy asserted ''The Datta Peeta was undoubtedly belongs to Hindus and naturally belongs to them.'' Mr Murthy said after fradulently laying claims for Datta Peeta, attempts were being made to open resorts and other recreation centres in and around the Datta Peeta, which should not be encouraged.
''The resorts may turn out to be the hideouts of terrorists, as witnessed at Hampi in Hospet, '' he added.
