Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, Dec 26 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition in the Chhattisgarh Assembly Mahendra Karma today suggested that deputy superintendent-level officers be posted at every police station in the state's naxalism-affected areas in view of personnel's declining morale due to escalating rebel violence.

''The police intelligence machinery ought to be firmed up.

Inadequacy of weapons in such police stations sends the wrong message to constables. The fight against Maoists has reached a decisive stage -- in a manner of speaking -- therefore experimentation ought not to take place in the security strategy,'' the Congress leader told UNI here.

He felt that the extremists were expanding their network in natural resource-rich tribal areas with a view to setting up an economic embargo of India.
