Katihar, Dec 26 (UNI) The NCP today described the triumph of BJP in Gujarat Assembly election as victory of communal forces and said Chief Minister Narendra Modi succeeded in gaining the mandate by terrorising the electorate.

Party National general secretary Tariq Anwar told reporters here that Mr Modi had created a fear psychosis among the electorate and succeeded in gaining the mandate to rule for another five years.

''Such campaigns bearing communal touch is detrimental to democratic values of the country and serious efforts should be made to check this practice at the earliest,'' he opined.

''The RJD candidate backed by the UPA will win in Bikramganj Lok Sabha bypolls, as the people were not happy with the performance of the Nitish Kumar government during the last two years,'' Mr Anwar claimed, adding the NDA government was more interested in gimmicks to gain political mileage.

The NCP general secretary also castigated the NDA government for its failure in removing discrepancies in the BPL list and creating congenial atmosphere for investment in Bihar.
