Afzal
Guru.
''In Gujarat election, only our party was demanding that Afzal should be hanged,'' UP BJP unit president Ramapati Ram Tripathi said in a demonstration programme at the party headquarters in Siddharthnagar. ''The repeal of POTA and the present policies of the central and the state governments have increased terrorist activities in the state...Parliament and courts are no more safe,'' he added.
''Mr Tripathi claimed the then BJP led-NDA alliance government at the Centre had put a ban on the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), but previous state Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav had released the SIMI activist from the jail.'' Terrorist outfits, including HuJI and SIMI had made a new terrorist outfit named Indian Mujahideen, the BJP leader said.
He further flayed the Mayawati government for establishing corruption and installing idols in the name of development in the state.
