Upcoming Kollywood actor commits suicide

Chennai, Dec 25 (UNI) Praveen Kumar, an upcoming actor, allegedly committed suicide by hanging at his residence here yesterday.

Police today said the 26-year-old had taken the extreme step following differences with his 36-year-old wife, who was already married and living with her eight-year-old son after being separated from her husband.

Praveen Kumar, who played as the second lead in the recent Madhavan starrer ''Arya,'' had given up a BPO job before taking up acting.

He developed intimacy with Nisha (36), whose son too acted in the film.

Praveen married Nisha much against the wishes of his family recently. Nisha insisted that he should come and stay with her in her house. Praveen refused it and in turn wanted her to come and stay with him.

Upset over this Praveen ended his life by hanging himself from the ceiling of the fan at his residence in Virugambakkam here yesterday.

Police have registered a case against Nisha following a complaint from Praveen's mother and sister.
