Warangal, Dec 25 (UNI) Police today arrested seven people, in connection with the kidnap and murder of a 11-year-old girl a few days ago.
Addressing a press conference here, Superintendent of Police Soumya Mishra said Manda Sadanandam, the victim's father, had befriended with some 'rowdies' to take vengeance on his rivals in his native Mogilicherla village.
The rowdies, sensing that Sadanandam possessed 'huge money', hatched a plan to kidnap his daughter from school on December 10.
The girl, who knew them as her father's friends, accompanied them.
They demanded Rs 25 lakh as ransom and took the girl to Lingala village of Station Ghanpur mandal later in the day.
Apprehending arrest, they killed her on December 13 and fled from the scene, she said.
Police obtained some clue after interrogating Sadanandam's rivals and the members of the rowdy gang.
