Relatives block road after school girl's death
Chennai, Dec 25 (UNI) A school girl died due to alleged negligence during surgery in a private hospital at suburban Thorapakkam today, leading to a snap agitation by the relatives of the deceased.
Police sources said the student Shobana, who complained of stomach pain, was initially admitted to a private hospital in Kilpauk area in the city from where she was shifted to another private hospital yesterday evening.
She was declared dead this morning by the doctors.
The parents and relatives of the girl suspected foul play, as they found a surgery mark on her stomach.
Alleging that the girl had died due to a wrong surgery and negligence by doctors, the relatives of the girl staged a demonstration in front of the hospital.
There were also allegations that the girl's kidney had been removed.
Senior police officials rushed to the spot and pacified the agitators.
Thorapakkam police have registered a case.
