Maoists releases abducted students and a teacher in Munger

Munger, Dec 25 (UNI) After five hours long drama the maoists finally released the abducted students and the teacher of J and B public school tonight.

Inspector General (IG) A R Kinni said here that the extremists had released all six students and the teacher in Kharagpur forests who later managed to return to their school.

The IG said that the principal of the school had confirmed about the safe return of the abducted persons.

He said that Superintendent of Police Mr Shalin along with the CRPF had launched a massive search operation in the forests and probably due to the mounting pressures the extremists safely released the victims from their clutches.

Earlier six students and a teacher of the private school were abducted by the Maoist extremists near Kharagpur lake situated in the forests where they had gone for picnic on the occasion of Christmas festival.

After receiving the information about the abduction from some of the students of the picnic group the district administration as well as of the state headquarter geared up for safe rescue of the abducted students.

Earlier, the maoists had killed the then SP of Munger K.Surendra Babu and six other police personnel in a land mine blast on January 5, 2005.
