Allahabad, Dec 25 (UNI) Former BJP general secretary K N Govindacharya today observed Rama Sethu should be developed as a tourist spot so that government could soar its revenue from tourism.

He, however, bemoaned that policy makers are hatching a conspiracy to destroy the national heritage.

Govindacharya slammed the centre for ''misguiding'' people by wrong policies...earth, forests and water are essential for life.

The policy makers must understand that destroying the under sea bridge is not development. ''It could be a part of development, if it helps in providing bread and butter to poorest of the poor.'' The BJP leader was speaking at Ganga Mahasabha on the occasion of 146th birth anniversary of Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya, the founder of Ganga Mahasabha in 1905.

He said that Ganga is being caged by dams. To protect the river, 'Ganga Sanskriti Pravah Yatra' would be kickstarted from February 1, 2008 to March 6, he said.
