Mumbai, Dec 24 (UNI) Former Maharashtra Chief Minister and Shiv Sena leader Manohar Joshi today said the Sharad Pawar-led NCP and Shiv Sena can come together if the former accepts Hindutva.
Speaking to reporters at a function here, Mr Joshi said the two towering leaders of Maharashtra-- Mr Pawar and Bal Thackeray can come together for building a better state, if Mr Pawar accepts Hindutva.
The statement assumes significance especially after the Maratha strongman called on Sena supremo Thackeray yesterday at his residence 'Matoshri' in suburban Mumbai. The meeting lasted for more than 90 minutes, sending mixed signals in political circles.
Mr Joshi said he, along with Shiv Sena Executive President Uddhav Thackeray, will meet Narendra Modi and congratulate him on his win in the 2007 Gujarat Assembly elections.
