Gandhinagar, Dec 24 (UNI) BJP's new role model Narendra Modi, will take oath of the office of Chief Minister of Gujarat for the third time tomorrow and present his new ministry as a birthday gift to the seniormost party leader and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
Mr Modi won the Gujarat Assembly election for the third consecutive time yesterday with the BJP registering a thumping victory on 117 seats.
BJP Spokesman Yamal Vyas today told UNI that the Party's victory will be gifted to Mr Vajpayee on his 83rd birthday by Mr Modi, who along with his council of ministers will take oath at a function at Sardar Patel Stadium in Ahmedabad tomorrow.
''The swearing-in ceremony, which was originally scheduled for December 27, has been pre-poned with the idea that the new government should be offered as a memorable and precious gift to Mr Vajpayee.'' he said.
''Mr Modi will maintain a small ministry with the strength of 15 to 20 members,'' the spokesman added.
''It is likely that some new faces will be inducted in the new Gujarat ministry. However, certain stalwarts and close associates of Mr Modi such as Vajubhai Vala, Ashok Bhatt, Amit Shah, Anandiben Patel, Saurabh Patel, Narottam Patel and Anil Patel will maintain their cabinet status,'' he added.
Former Major Irrigation and Narmada Development Minister Jaynarayan Vyas, who won from Siddhpur, is likely to be inducted in the ministry. Milk Co-operative Movement Chief Vipul Chaudhary will be inducted in the council of ministers. Mr Chaudhary was a close associate of Union Textile Minister Shankarsinh Vaghela, but joined BJP on the eve of election.
