Lee gears up for Bollywood victory in Melbourne and Sydney

By Staff

Melbourne, Dec 24 (UNI) Australia's pace spearhead Brett Lee is not only working on his bowling technique but is honing his acting skills too ahead of the Boxing Day Test against India.

Lee, along with three of his team mates is all set to make his Bollywood debut for a movie named 'Victory' during the Boxing Day and New Year Tests.

A team from the Indian movie industry will arrive in Melbourne to shoot crowd scenes for a new Bollywood film called Victory, in which Brett Lee will appear as himself.

Lee's manager, Neil Maxwell, yesterday described his role as ''a glorified cameo.'' The pacer will shoot for the film during the breaks between matches.

Maxwell added that it would require co-operation from Cricket Australia. ''They have been very supportive. They understand that India is a huge market and it's a good thing for cricket.'' Lee will be joined by team mates Mike Hussey, Stuart Clark and Shaun Tait for filming at the SCG and North Sydney Oval after the Test. Cricketers from England including Simon Jones and fellow paceman Sajid Mahmood will also be a part of the movie.

His bowling partner Stuart Clark said ''I'm really excited to get my movie career under way,'' though he was unsure about his role in the movie. ''To be fair, I'm not quite sure what I'll be doing. It's really about Brett. I'm just one of the extras.'' Earlier, Lee had expressed his desires to act in a Bollywood movie. ''I will do a Bollywood movie one day because it would be so much fun,'' he said after he was declared man of the series against Sri Lanka in the recently concluded Test series.

The pace man who is nearing the milestone of 250 Test wickets has already recorded a hit song, 'You're the One for Me', with popular Indian singer Asha Bhosle last year.
