Elaborate traffic for BJD rally on December 26

Bhubaneswar, Dec 24 (UNI) Police have made elaborate traffic arrangement for a massive rally on December 26 to be organised by the ruling Biju Janata Dal(BJD) to mark the 10th foundation year in the state.

Khurda District Superintendent of Police Amitabh Thakur said around three lakh party supporters are likely to attend the rally from different parts of the state.

The party supporters would initially gather at 45 places in different parts of the city and would then move to the venue at the Capital High School ground in six major processions.

The meeting ground has been divided into 12 sectors and security personnel would be deployed in strategic points to regulate the traffic, the SP said.

The Bhubaneswar-Cuttack NH 5 would be closed for a brief period on the rally day to regulate the traffic, he said adding that police also earmarked 14 places for the parking of vehicles at different parts of the city for the smooth traffic management.

He said while the police had decided to block one side of some major roads like Janapath on the rally day from 11hrs to 1300hrs and banned the movement of four wheelers from housing board Chhak to Rammandir from 1100hrs to 1700hrs.
