Bikramganj, Bihar, Dec 24 (UNI) Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi today said the developmental activities carried out by the party in Gujarat had made it victorious and similar activities would also pave the path of victory for the NDA in the Bikramganj Lok Sabha byelections.

Addressing a public meeting, Mr Modi said only the leaders, who concentrated on development, would rule the nation and the victory of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi was an open testimony to it.

He said Bihar was rolling fast on the developmental track.

''However, it is impossible to yield results within a short span of two years and that too in a situation when the entire system had collapsed during the past fifteen years,'' Mr Modi said.

He claimed that the roads, bridges, hospitals, schools and other such infrastructure were being constructed on war footing and the NDA government had spent Rs 20,000 crore on development work during its two years of rule, while the RJD had not spent that much amount during its entire regime of 15 years.

He further said the NDA government had launched a drive against corruption and 167 officers were put behind the bars under corruption charges during the NDA regime, whereas only four people were penalised every year during the RJD regime under such charges.
