Tirumala, Dec 23 (UNI) The entry of spiritual guru and founder of the Art of Living Foundation Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and some others, including Mr Lokadri of Reliance, into the Venkateswara temple through the 'Maha Dwaram' for darshan of lord Balaji last night, has created a controversy among the political parties.

Talking to newspersons here today, Tirumala-Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Executive Officer K V Ramanachary said this was the second incident which had created controversy over the entry of spiritual guru and others into the temple against the TTD rules.

He said TTD Joint Executive Officer G Balaramaiah would inquire into the matter.

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar had come here yesterday to participate as a chief guest in the two-day 'National conference on Science and Spiritual Quest,' organised by TTD and Kolkata-based Bhaktivedanta Institute.

As per the TTD rules, 'Maha Dwara Pravesam' is allowed only for President of India, Prime Minister, Governors, Chief Ministers, Judges of the Supreme Court and High Courts and Ministers, he pointed.

A controversy was created in April this year when some TTD employees gave special treatment by allowing Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai to enter the temple through Maha Dwara Pravesam during their visit.

BJP Youth Morcha state president Bhanu Prakash Reddy alleged that the TTD Board Chairman B Karunakara Reddy was taking decision on his own and providing red carpet at the Tirumala temple for the non-protocol people against the TTD rules and neglecting the pilgrims.
