No dispalcement without rehabilitation policy: Marandi

Dumka, Dec 23 (UNI) Jharkhand Deputy Chief Minister Stephen Marandi today said the state government will not displace any family without announcing its new rehabilitation policy.

Speaking at a function here, Mr Marandi said the state would soon come up with its new rehabilitation plan and until then, no one would be displaced.

Mr Marandi said a number of industrial houses were interested in establishing their production units in the state but government would first ensure rehabilitation of the affected people.

Referring to the rural electrification scheme, Mr Marandi said that recently, a letter to the Union Energy Ministry had been sent to include Dumka and Godda districts in the Rajeev Gandhi Rural Electrification Scheme.

Earlier, only four out of six districts of Santhal Parganas were selected under the scheme.
