Ahmedabad, Dec 23 (UNI) A triumphant Narendra Modi today thanked the people of the state for once again reposing faith in him and appealed to all political parties to have a positive attitude and help him build a 'Golden Gujarat'.
Accepting the 'landmark verdict' in the assembly elections humbly, the 57-year-old BJP veteran hoped it would bring qualitative transformation in the prevailing political trends in the country.
'' The credit for the victory does not belong to me or to BJP, but the 5.5 crore Gujaratis," he said in a statement, adding "I submit the same at their feet with humility". The agenda for the elections was not set by any political party but by the people of Gujarat, he added.
"This victory is a sound proclamation of the people of Gujarat for Jeetega Gujarat", he said.
Without naming any party or leader, Mr Modi said Gujarat has decided to march ahead on the parth of development, on the path of victory by defeating 'anti-Gujarat' forces. "This spirit of victory of Gujarat will definitely be realised", he said.
Terming the BJP's win in the state as "historical", he said the credit for it must go to the people of Gujarat, lakhs of dedicated workers of BJP and the guidance of central leadership of the party, the lakhs of patriotic RSS worker, intellectuals and spiritual personalities, who have considered the interest of Gujarat above everything.
