Pathanamthitta, Dec 22: The procession carrying 'Thanka Anki'(golden attire) to adorn the Ayyappa idol during 'Mandala Pooja' at Sabarimala will set off from Aranmula Parthasarathi temple tomorrow.
Weighing 420 sovereigns, the 'Thanka Anki' was dedicated to Lord Ayyappa by Chithirathirunal Balaramavarma of the erstwhile Travancore State in 1972.
The 'Thanka Anki' would be taken out of the Devaswom strong room at Parthasarathi temple and kept at 'Nadappanthal' for devotees to offers prayers from 1700 hrs to 1830 hrs.
It would be mounted on a decorated motorised chariot just before the journey. The procession would halt at Omalloor Rekthakanta Swamy temple at night.
On December 24, it would spend the night at Konni Muringamangalam temple. The night halt of the procession on December 25 would be at Perinad Sree Dharma Sastha temple.
On December 26, the procession would reach Pampa by 1200 hrs via Laha, Plappally, Nilackal and Attathode. The golden attire would be carried on head by 'Ayyappa Seva Sangham' volunteers from Pampa to Sannidhanam in the afternoon.
''Deeparadhana'' would be performed after adorning the Ayyappa idol with 'Thanka Anki'. The 'Mandala Pooja' marking the conclusion of the 41-day 'Mandalam Pilgrimage' season would be held at Ayyappa temple between 1229 hrs and 1240 hrs in 'Meenam Rasi' on December 27.
The temple would be closed at 2300 hrs after 'Athazha Pooja' and would be reopened on December 30 afternoon for 'Makaravilakku' day falls on January 14, 2008.
