Patiala, Dec 22 (UNI) A local court today extended by four days the CBI remand of Raman Kumar, former station house, officer (SHO) allegedly involved in Moga sex scandal.

Additional session judge Kuldeep Singh rejected the defence plea that there was no need for further remand as his client had already been in CBI custody since December 14.

Raman Kumar, on the directive of Punjab and Haryana High Court, had surrendered before CBI, at Chandigarh, on December 13.

CBI informed the court that they had yet to recover the crucial diary in which the numbers of other important persons involved in the sex racket were expected to be entered.

The racket involves alleged extortion of money from 'innocent people' by police officials in connivance with two women. The case has been handed over to the CBI as names of influential people, icluding police officials and political leaders, have come up in the case.
