Kumaraswamy shows good post operative recovery

Bangalore, Dec 22 (UNI) former Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, recovering from a open heart surgery at the Wockhardt Hospital here is showing signs of a speedy recovery.

The Hospital in a release here said that Mr Kumaraswamy was likely to be shifted out of the Intensive Care Unit today.

''This morning we removed all the drains which are generally put to remove any post operative bleeding. The valve that has been implanted is functioning very well and all his heart functions including BP are normal" said Dr Vivek Jawali, Chief Cardiovascular Surgeon, Wockhardt Hospitals who has performed the open heart surgery for replacement of Aortic valve on Mr Kumaraswamy.

Mr Kumarswamy had a good nights sleep and this morning took his first steps in the ICU post surgery. He was given a soft diet breakfast and subsequently went through a session of physiotherapy.

He was very alert and cheerful and felt that he was much better than yesterday and feels fit to get back to the ward.
