Hyderabadi is 10 Millionth visitor to Singapore

Hyderabad, Dec 22 (UNI) A Hyderabadi was declared as the ten millionth visitor to Singapore in 2007 at Changi Airport today, for which the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) accorded him a special welcome.

Singapore achieved a new milestone in its tourism sector when Sanjeev Bhandari arrived by a Singapore Airlines flight- SQ 439- from Hyderabad, early this morning, according to an STB press release issued here.

Mr Bhandari, his wife Ms Geeta Bhandari, son Karan and daughter Hiya were visiting Singapore on a holiday.

They were extended a warm welcome at the airport by STB's Deputy Chief Executive (International), Mr Quek Swee Kuan and an entourage of performers showcasing Singapore's unique blend of the modernity and rich indegenous culture.

The Bhandari family also won many exciting prizes, including complimentary stay at the Shangri-La Singapore, Amara Sanctuary Resort, a luxury cruise onboard the SuperStar Gemini, a ride atop the HiPPO bus to view the spectacular Christmas Lighting along Orchard Road and personalized guided tours, customized to suit his interest.

This year's achievement of ten million visitors surpassed last year's record arrivals of 9.7 million visitors, continuing an upward trend from 2004 when Singapore crossed the eight million mark, the release said.
