Communal tension in Chittorgarh after cow carcasse recovered

Chittorgarh, Dec 22 (UNI) Tension gripped the Gumanpura area under Kapasan sub divsion in Chittorgarh district today morning, with the discovery of a dead cow, which was allegedly slaughtered.

According to police sources, the body of a cow was sighted at Sindhiom ka Kheda village today morning. The villagers took the body of the cow to Gumanpura junction and started a dharna. They also beat up a member of the minority community who happened to be passing the way and set afire some kiosks belonging to minority community.

Additional police reinforcements have been rushed to the site and the district administration has initiated talks with leaders of both the communities to bring the situation under control.
