Dubai, Dec 21: Two Indian naval warships have docked at Fujairah as part of India's initiative to convey the message of friendship, camaraderie and goodwill to the UAE.

INS Tabar and INS Brahmaputra with 500 naval personnel had arrived as part of a friendly visit to the UAE on Wednesday and were expected to be there till Sunday, after which they would head for Oman en route to Mumbai. India would host the Indian Ocean naval conclave to be held next February and the visit by the two warships was among the initiatives of the conclave, which the UAE would attend.

Indian Ambassador to the UAE Talmiz Ahmad told newspersons yesterday that these visits were to enhance the ''maritime cooperation'' with the UAE. ''This trip is part of the naval diplomacy,'' Captain MD Suresh, Indian Navy, Defence Adviser for the GCC, said.
