Agartala, Dec 21: The Tripura government has withdrawn the order it had issued yesterday against journalists' entry and movement in the Civil Secretariat premises.

Commissioner of the Secretariat Administration Nepal Sinha said here today that any order, restricting the journalists' movement in the Secretariat premises, had not been issued.

The Agartala Press Club had held an emergency meeting yesterday and threatened to launch an agitation against the decision to restrict the movement of journalists in the Secretariat complex, imposed by DSP (Secretariat) Prabir Majumder.

The administration was rocked with the alleged molestation charge against Joint Secretary (Home) Nepal Sen by his subordinate lady staff on December 17 and two press photographers were allegedly assaulted by the police when they had gone to the Secretariat to cover the incident.

The state government constituted two separate committees, headed by two senior bureaucrats, for conducting enquiry into the alleged molestation charge and physical assault of Mr Sen by the irate mob in his office.
