Theatre artists pay tributes to Hargurjit

Chandigarh, Dec 21 (UNI) About fifty theatre, television and film artistes gathered at Punjab Arts Council to pay tributes to Hargurjit, a renowned theatre and film artist, who passed away in Mumbai on December 14.

The artistes who were present included his sister, Bano Bhag Singh, H S Bhatti, Harbux Latta, Vinod Sharma, Ravinder Happy, Keshav Bharata, Sudesh Sharma, Swaraj Sandhu, Baljit Zakhmi, Inder Acharya, KNS Sekhon, Ravinder Grover and Jassi Dhaliwal.

After graduating from NSD, Hargurjit shifted to Mumbai in the year 1988 where he did numerous TV serials like Tipu Sultan, Tera Ghar So Mera Ghar, Ekas Ke Hum Barik. He directed and acted in many plays like, Vich Kacheri De, Alha Afsar.

All the theatre artistes present decided to organize a theatre festival on November four every year, on the birth anniversary of the late artist.
