Visakhapatnam, Dec 21: United National Progressive Alliance (UNPA) Convener and TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu today demanded the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre immediately implement the Swaminathan Committee's recommendation to increase the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for agricultural produces.
Addressing a press conference here, he said the Centre had totally ''neglected'' peasants' issue, despite their suffering due to non-increase of MSP for agricultural produces.
Mr Naidu condemned Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's statement at the Chief Minister's meeting in New Delhi yesterday that there was shortage of foodgrains production, though the country was producing 210 million tonnes of foodgrains.
The TDP's polit bureau meeting, to be held in Hyderabad on December 24, would discuss economic reforms and other issues, he added.
Earlier, he inaugurated nine health mini-buses here, meant for the farmers of coastal districts.
