Shillong, Dec 21 (UNI) The Muslim community in Meghalaya today celebrated Id-ul-Zuha with due solemnity and religious fervour.
Thousands of Muslims offered special Id prayers in various mosques and shrines despite the cold weather conditions.
The main function was held at the Laban Idgah near here.
Id-ul-Zuha is celebrated on the tenth day of Zul-Hijja, which is the last month of the lunar Islamic calendar and also marks the end of the annual Haj pilgrimage.
Reports of huge congregations were also received from Garo Hills and Jaintia Hills district.
Children clad in colourful new dresses exchanged gifts and visited their relatives.
