Pratapgarh, Dec 21 (UNI) Mauritian President Anerood Jugnauth today inaugurated a hospital set up by a trust here.
The President also offered oblation in a 'yajna' organised on the occasion.
Later talking to mediapersons, Mr Jugnauth said there were lots of similarities between India and Mauritius.
''The two nations are very close in terms of culture, language and religion. Indians comprise 70 per cent of the Mauritian population,'' he added.
Mr Jugnauth noted that the hospital had been opened up for the welfare of the village people.
''However, the villages in Mauritius are much advanced compared to Indian villages,'' he said.
