L&T to generate 5,000 MW power over next 5 yrs
Mumbai, Dec 21: Construction and engineering major, Larsen and Toubro (L&T), plans to generate 5,000 MW over the next five years.
The Company, through its newly formed power subsidiary, L&T Power Development Company, will develop coal-based power generating capacities at the project cost of Rs 20,000 crore, L&T Chairman and Managing Director A M Naik said today. ''The proportion of investment will be 30:70, L&T will invest Rs 6,000 crore and the rest will come through debt,'' Mr Naik informed.
L&T will also bid for the new projects, under country's ultra mega power projects, for infrastructure development or development of the entire project for power generation, he added.
