New Delhi, Dec 21 (UNI) The reality show bandwagon rolls on! After scouting for the best actor, best singer, best dancer, best 'singing jodi' and the best comedian, the wheel has now been set in motion to search for the biggest prankster in the country.
Thirty three people with an 'enormous itch' ('Maha khujli') for playing pranks will battle it out for the title of 'Best prankster'in 'Champion Chalbaaz No 1', a new television reality show to go on air tomorrow.
Premiering on Sony Entertainment television at 10 pm, the show will have 33 of the 'choicest pranksters' from across the country, who will be at their mischievous best in playing the most audacious pranks on anybody.
Judging them for their efforts will be television's greatest pranksters Sajid Khan and Cyrus Broacha who, along with a live audience, will critique the performance of the contestants to crown the biggest 'Champion Chalbaaz No 1'.
The show will be aired in the time slot of the just concluded comedy show 'Comedy circus'. 'Champion Chalbaaz..' is an effort by the Channel to continue to provide the audience with fun filled entertainment.
Speaking at a press meet to announce the show, the Executive vice-president and business head of Soni Entertainment television Albert Almeida said,''after the success of 'Comedy Circus' we wanted to take the genre of comedy to the next level. Sony entertainment television has, in keeping with its promise, been very innovative in breaking new grounds in genre of comic with the success of the first season of 'Comedy Circus'.
With 'Champion Chalbaaz..', we aim to further explore the genre by bringing out the mischievous side of the common man. The show promises to keep the viewer tickled and entertained.'' 'Champion Chalbaaz No 1' is the Indian version of the International format 'Prankster' from Endemol India. This format show is being launched simultaneously for the first time in India and the US.
As per its format, every episode will showcase three pranksters who will pull off an individual prank followed by them working together to play a prank. Also, every episode will also feature a celebrity prank.
''It is all in good humour and without malice making for a great laugh,''Almeida said.
