Heavy rains lilkely in Lakshadweep

Pune, Dec 21 (UNI) Heavy rains are likely to occur at many places in Lakshadweep.

Rains or snow are likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir. Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Mainly dry weather will prevail over Arunachal Pradesh, West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.

The northeast monsoon has been vigorous in Tamil Nadu. Cold wave conditions prevailed in some parts of Jharkhand.

Heavy to very heavy rains have occurred at most places in Lakshadweep. Very light rains or snow have occurred at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir.

Very light rains have occurred at isolated places in Konkan and Goa, north interior Karnataka and Kerala. Rain or thundershowers have occurred at many places in Tamil Nadu, at a few places in Rayalaseema, south interior Karnataka and at isolated places in coastal karnataka.

Mainly dry weather prevailed over Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat State, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Night temperatures were appreciably below normal in some parts of Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Punjab and were below normal in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and in some parts of Gangetic West Bengal, coastal Orissa, east Uttar Pradesh and of northwest Madhya Pradesh.

They were appreciably to markedly above normal in west Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Goa, Telangana, north Tamil Nadu, coastal and south interior Karnataka and Kerala and were above normal in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and kashmir and south Tamil Nadu. They were normal over the rest of the country.
