Hyderabad, Dec 21 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekahra Reddy today said the Government would initiate measures to protect the Property of the Christian Churches in the State by discussing the matter with the Bishops and Intellectuals in the community.
Addressing a large gathering of Christians at a reception hosted by him on the eve of the Christmas, he said though the Government had prepared a draft on the protection of Christian Churches Properties, it has not been finalised in view of apprehensions expressed by the leaders of the community. The Govenrment would discuss the matter with them and do the needful, he added.
Regarding the sanction of grant-in-aid to the Christian Educational Institutons urged by the Bishops, he said the Government would try to assist them through the Minority Welfare Department, as there was some administrative problems in providing grant-in-aid .
The Chief Minister urged members of the community to help the poor, downtrodden and toiling masses, as the Christmas, preached by Jesus Christ, stood for love and affection.
