Eid-Ul-Zuha observd with gaiety in Bihar

Patna, Dec 21 (UNI) The Eid-ul-Zuha, popular as Bakrid, a festival of sacrifice was celebrated with religious fervour throughout Bihar today.

Braving biting cold, the people offered special "namaz" at Jama Masjid near the railway station and embraced each other.

After the auspicious prayer, animals were sacrificed as per ritual.

Dressed in colourful costumes, the people of the Muslim community visited each other's place and exchanged gifts and greetings.

Reports of celebration poured in from different districts, where people offered "namaz" in various mosques.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar greeted people on the occasion.

In his message, Mr Kumar said the festival was a symbol of sacrifice.

Bihar Governor R S Gavai also greeted the people and appealed to them to propagate message of peace and harmony.
