Kolkata, Dec 20 (UNI) Seven suspected militants of an underground organisation of Manipur were arrested in a raid carried out in the city's Jadavpur area today.

Inspector General of Police (Law and Order) Raj Kanojia said the arrested included three women.

He said some documents of the People's Revolutionary Party for Kangleipak (PREPAK) were recovered during the raid, which was conducted in an apartment following a tip-off from the military intelligence.

''We are ascertaining their antecedents. It is also being probed whether they have links with the PREPAK or any underground outfit in the North-East,'' he said.

The arrested were being interrogated at Jadavpur police station before being produced in the court, Mr Kanojia said.

This was the second time after 2005 when suspected North-Eastern militants were arrested in the city.
