Patna, Dec 20 (UNI) The RJD today came down heavily on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for the latter's allegation that Union Ministers had violated the federal structure.
In a statement here, RJD national spokesperson Shyam Rajak said their criticism of the NDA government about tardy implementation of the Centrally sponsored schemes was not tantamount to attack on the federal spirit of the Constitution.
Mr Rajak said the Centre had released sufficient finacial assistance to Bihar for execution of various developmental and welfare schemes, but lamented that Nitish Kumar-led NDA government was not utilising the funds properly.
'' Huge funds released against Rashtriya Sam Vikas Yojna, Indira Awas Yojna, Swarn Jayanti Gram Rojgar Yojna besides several other welfare and development schemes have been lying unspent in various districts, '' he said.
Slackness on the part of the Nitish Kumar government was affecting the interests of poor and downtrodden, he stated.
'' On one hand, Mr Kumar is advocating for preparation of special schemes for the minorities and oppressed, while on the other he continues to maintain stoic silence on opposition from the Chief Ministers of the BJP-ruled states to any move towards formulation of programmes by the Centre aimed at ameliorating the conditions of minorities, '' Mr Rajak wondered and said it was an open testimony of the "double standard" being adopted by Mr Kumar.
Earlier, Mr Kumar during his speech at National Development Council in New Delhi on Wednesday had alleged that Union Ministers were violating the federal spirit of the Constitution by criticising the NDA government on implementation of Centrally sponsored welfare and developmental schemes.
