Chandigarh, Dec 20 (UNI) Punjab snatched five points from Orissa as the hosts recorded seven-wicket victory on the final day of their four-day Elite Group B match in the Ranji Trophy Championship at the PCA Stadium in Mohali today.
Punjab have accumulated 13 points and saved themselves from the position of being relegated to the plate division with an outright win against Orissa.
Resuming at the overnight total of 117 for 2, Punjab batted for 115 minutes this morning to complete the formalities as they made 175 for the loss of three wickets.
Overnight not out (47) Ravi Inder Singh went on to score 74 before he was adjudged leg before wicket to Niranjan Behera. He stayed at the wicket for 225 minutes, faced 201 balls and reached the fence 10 times.
Uday Kaul (21) and Ravneet Ricky remained not out on 21 and 3, respectively.
